The North American/European Union Agriculture Conference, recently hosted in Charlottetown, PEI, shows the importance of international collaboration in the agriculture sector.
Orchestrated by major players like the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and COPA-COGECA, this event occurs every two years, focusing on bringing together the most influential minds in farming from North America and the European Union.
Approximately 280 delegates attended, representing a broad spectrum from EU Member States, the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Keith Currie, President of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, emphasized the platform's role in exchanging perspectives and innovative solutions, highlighting the shared challenges of climate change, input costs, and labor shortages.
“This conference is an opportunity to share a wide range of perspectives on the key issues and solutions to some of the issues that affect agriculture across the globe, and share lessons learned on how we can best solve the challenges we face as an industry,” said Keith Currie, CFA President.
This significant event was marked by participation from prominent international figures like Lawrence MacAulay, Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, who reinforced the shared goal of sustainably feeding the world and building resilient food systems.
Apart from engaging discussions, attendees got a firsthand look at innovative farming practices in PEI. Bilateral meetings were conducted, discussing topics from animal emergency preparedness to the latest in plant breeding innovations.
