The University of Guelph Ridgetown campus is getting a new director, Brett Shepherd will succeed Ken McEwan. McEwan is returning to the Ridgetown campus to work in infrastructure and will also be returning the next year to work as a professor after being a great force for the school and engaging in a variety of growth opportunities for the campus.
Shepherd has acquired two degrees from the University of Guelph and is looking to bring his knowledge of the school to the Ridgetown campus. Shepherd has previously worked at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board as the director of operations and later as the director for intergovernmental affairs and strategic relationships and manager of strategic research. Shepherd is excited to give back to the campus stating, “The campus is a special place with a close-knit community that provides a critical education service to our province and the country.”
The Ridgetown campus has been one of the main agricultural schools in Ontario for the last 50 years as a portion of the University of Guelph. The Ridgetown campus is a key learning center for small farmers and farm workers around Ontario and Canada.
