Many small farms that raise livestock have a great relationship with their local butcher. Perhaps you would like to suggest your favourite butcher register for Ontario’s Finest Butcher Competition.
There's just one week left to enter the competition for the title of Ontario's Finest Butcher! It's the year's biggest competition, displaying Ontario's butchers' amazing meat-cutting skills and abilities.
On Monday, September 13th at Halenda's, Ontario's Finest Butcher contestants will begin by demonstrating their technical knowledge and knife skills and abilities in an Elimination Round.
The top three participants will advance to the finals, which will be hosted at Storehouse 408 in Cambridge the week of September 28th. The candidates will compete in a 30-minute challenge to demonstrate their charming and innovative personalities, as well as their ability to think quickly on their feet and add value to an unknown protein. The finals will be broadcast live from meat and poultry Ontario's Facebook page courtesy of Metro.
Each of the finalists will receive a prize pack valued at $800 which will include a Mercer Culinary butcher knife set, a custom-made butcher knife courtesy of Dolan Foods and White Chefs Jacket courtesy of Ontario Beef.
The winner will walk away with an amazing prize package valued at over $2300 which will include a Big Green Egg MiniMax Ultimate Kit, a Mercer Culinary butcher knife set, a custom-made butcher knife courtesy of Dolan Foods, a Yeti Prize Package and Black Chef’s Jacket courtesy of Ontario Beef.
