33 per cent of food bank users in Canada are children while only representing 18.8 per cent of the population.
According to Statistics Canada, 1 in 7 Canadians are food insecure at present.

Small Farm Canada spoke with Aaron Saks, President of West Coast Seeds about the campaign. Saks related that West Coast Seeds wanted to create greater awareness of the status of need in Canadian Foodbanks. They also wanted to take their support of food banks to the next level with 100 per cent of proceeds from FBC seeds going directly to Food Banks Canada.
West Coast Seeds have a track-record of supporting the Food Banks with other campaigns such as the release of the Dr. Bonnie Henry Pollinator Blend in 2021.
