Rear-mounted snow blowers can be particularly useful if there is limited maneuvering space or a need to clear snow around obstacles. They work by blowing snow out of the chute, creating a clean path behind the tractor.
Although many don’t want to look over their shoulder to blow snow, a big advantage of the rear-mounting is that the loader can remain on the front. This reduces the time taken to detach the loader to attach the snowblower and vice versa.
Those who have long laneways to clear, claim they like the loader action to pile snow and the rear-blower to re-direct the snow away.
Another reason to consider a rear-mounted snowblower is the cost. It is often half the cost of a front mounted tractor snowblower.
