We start quite a few seed indoors and struggle a bit to keep up with watering. Frequent watering can also compact soil but letting soil dry out is bad too.
One solution is to provide a barrier to moisture loss. The micro greenhouse pictured will maintain a sunny, warm, humid environment for much longer than watering or misting alone. A moist (but not wet) environment aids in germination.
Editor’s tip: Recycle grocery greens containers for the purpose.
