There are both battery and gas-powered options for effective high branch trimming. This week we will discuss the battery powered pole-saw option.
Battery powered pole saws are relatively easy to maintain. Some even come with automatic chain oiling features that make ongoing operations a breeze. Other advantages include lighter weight and economic purchase price.
Ryobi is a brand of tool that we commonly use at work and at the farm. The batteries are consistent amongst all their tools which is a big advantage. With multiple tools there will always be a battery charged and available for use.
Potential drawbacks also include battery power – batteries have a limited life, three years average. If the battery does not work, the tool is useless. Replacement batteries should be figured into the full cost of the tool.
Another potential drawback is performance. Battery chainsaws tend to rev at a lower rate having less power than gas, so the diameter of tree branch it can handle is a limitation.
