Careful, I’ve got a knife and I mean to use it for good.
This is an old chef’s knife that I decided to keep for my tool kit. It has come in handy for a surprising number of jobs.
In this picture I used it to cut oasis for a seasonal arrangement.
I have also used this knife to split perennial plants like rhubarb and hosta in the spring. Each plant has a fibrous root system with rhubarb consisting of fibrous roots with a woody rhizome.
Any job where clippers may not be quite right, a knife may do the trick.
Editor’s tips: Keep your knives clean, sharpened and out of reach of children.
