A new utility tractor from Case IH brings an electric tractor and autonomous features into one piece of equipment.
“It’s battery powered and we’ve dropped the internal combustion engine out,” Jeff Akel, global product manager for Case IH says about the Farmall 75C.
The tractor comes standard with 74 horsepower and 65 PTO horsepower.
And operators can choose between an operator cab or ROPS.
The tractor emits zero emissions and can go from a 10 per cent charge to 80 per cent charge in under an hour with DC fast charging.
It’s equipped with 110V and 220V electric outlet to act as a portable generator. And operators can expect to get between four and eight hours of run time, depending on use.
Users don’t have to worry if the tractor can hold up against its diesel counterparts, Akel says.
“The tractor was built intentionally to operate the same way as a diesel tractor equivalent, so there’s no compromise in performance,” he said.
One of the tractor’s featured characteristics is its Smart Roof.
The roof is filled with sensors and cameras to support the tractor’s autonomous features, including:
- Safety Mode — provides 360° awareness of people and objects on touchscreen,
- Invisible Bucket — provides real time views in front of and around the bucket,
- Follow Me Mode — enables the tractor to follow the operator when he/she is away from the driver's seat, and
- Row Follow Mode — uses vision technology to keep the tractor between rows vs A/B lines.
The tractor will be available for purchase beginning in March 2024.
