The 2026 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM) is shaping up to be a memorable event for visitors, exhibitors, and the local community, with organizers announcing a major enhancement to on-site accommodations. Scheduled for September 22 to 26, 2026, in Bruce County near Walkerton, the event will now feature a significantly expanded and improved RV camping experience at “The Bruce” RV Park.
The local IPM 2026 organising committee recently confirmed that, with the support of key partners Bruce Power and Hydro One, the event will include 500 serviced RV sites equipped with hydroelectric power. Additional non-serviced camping options will also be available, ensuring flexibility for a wide range of visitors. The upgraded facilities are designed to provide a comfortable, convenient stay and allow guests to focus on enjoying all that the International Plowing Match has to offer.
“We're proud of our role in powering Ontario forward and equally proud to provide power to campers coming to enjoy the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo right here in Bruce County,” said James Scongack, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Bruce Power. “We want to show our support for the organizers who are working so hard to provide visitors with a window into how farming and rural life benefit our community and province."
The location of the RV Park is expected to be a major draw. Organisers highlight that “The Bruce” RV Park will be within comfortable walking distance of the popular Tented City, the bustling heart of the IPM. Tented City will once again host a wide array of exhibits, demonstrations, vendors, and interactive displays, with exhibitors travelling from across North America to showcase products and services tied to agriculture, food production, and rural living.
Gord Lang, Chair of the Local Committee for IPM 2026, emphasized the benefits of the close proximity. He explained that RV guests will be only a "pleasant walk" away from Tented City, where entertainment and special features are planned to appeal to visitors of all ages. Lang also noted that exhibitors from across North America will highlight innovations and offerings within the agriculture, food, and rural living industries, reinforcing the show’s reputation as a premier agricultural event.
Evenings at the RV Park are also set to deliver a unique experience. Lang shared that RV guests will enjoy their own dedicated musical entertainment in a special tent, providing an opportunity to relax, socialize, and end each day of the show on a high note without having to travel far from their campsite.
Beyond the camping experience, the 2026 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo will continue to offer the hallmark attractions that draw thousands of visitors each year. Top-level plowing competitions will once again take centre stage, showcasing the skill, precision, and tradition that define the event. Educational opportunities will be available at attractions such as the Hydro One Education Centre, while community celebrations, including the Bruce Power Opening Day Parade, will highlight local pride and participation.
Event leaders and partners have expressed strong confidence that the upgraded RV Park reflects a shared commitment to delivering a well-organised, welcoming, and memorable IPM experience. Local officials have also praised the collaboration between organisers and corporate partners, noting that the improvements will help boost interest in the event while shining a spotlight on the agricultural strength and rural vitality of Bruce County.
As in previous years, demand for on-site RV camping is expected to be high. Organisers anticipate that the serviced sites, in particular, will sell out quickly. Visitors planning to attend the 2026 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred camping option and enjoy easy access to everything the event has to offer.
With expanded amenities, powered RV sites, and a prime location close to the action, IPM 2026 is positioning itself to deliver an exceptional experience for campers and day visitors alike, while celebrating the enduring importance of agriculture and rural life in Canada. Book your RV stay now.
