Small Farm Canada recently supported the University of Guelph’s annual College Royal. The event was held March 15th & 16th, 2025 – it was the 101st edition.
Every March, the University of Guelph hosts College Royal, the largest university open house event in North America. This annual campus-wide event attracts thousands of visitors, offering them a unique opportunity to explore the university’s facilities, engage with students and faculty, and experience the vibrant campus life. College Royal has become a highly anticipated tradition, drawing participants from near and far to enjoy a range of interactive activities and displays.
Small Farm Canada donated a two-year subscription to the magazine to the annual flower arranging competition, which brought together floral enthusiasts for a fun and relaxing event, where participants showcased their creativity in Vase and Centerpiece arrangements.
“The competition provided a unique opportunity for contestants to learn from a professional, refine their skills, and craft stunning floral displays,” says College Royal volunteer Haley Lundy. “With a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere, both beginners and experienced arrangers embraced the challenge, creating beautiful designs.”
Prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category, along with Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion titles for the top overall designers.
More than just a competition, the event fostered a sense of community, bringing together flower lovers eager to share their passion for floral design.
