Whether you are into using natural fibres for gardening, agriculture, crafting, fashion or fixtures for home, Canadian wool producers and millers have a lot to offer right across the Nation. The Campaign for Wool has developed an accessible online directory of over 25 wool and wool product producers and millers both by category and by province at Canadian Wool Directory
We are proud to have featured several in our magazine including Ecowool, Longway Homestead, Topsy Farm and WoolGrown Company.
It seems the application and adoption is growing for Canadian wool not only in crafting but in agriculture and gardening as well. It is growing as an alternative to materials like plastic mulch and peat moss. In discussion with Lindsey Weber of WoolGrown Company recently, she commented that their horticultural felt is now being carried by Lee Valley Tools as consumers search for sustainable alternatives for products that provide mulch, soil enhancement and fertility.
