2026 Sask Cervid Alliance Convention & AGM

The Saskatchewan Cervid Alliance convention program features a strong lineup of speakers and timely topics relevant to the cervid industry. Nick Haley will present on genetic resistance in both ranched and wild cervids, with a focus on genetic analysis and genomics, while Dr. Scott Napper will provide an update on progress toward a CWD vaccine. Shawn Schafer from NADeFA will share a national perspective, and Jeff Wilson will deliver a CORIN presentation examining evolving strategies for disease response. Gary Pusateri of Dream Genomics will discuss advancements in CWD blood testing, and Trevor Green will speak on regenerative grazing practices. Additional sessions include Ashley Stone from Farm & Food Care on Open Farm Days, Matt Owens on Antler Blast Nutrition, and MyLivestock.ca introducing its Animal Management System. The program also includes a panel discussion with Saskatchewan Agriculture and Saskatchewan Environment, a dedicated biosecurity seminar, updates from Norélkco and Awapco, reports from CCA, and the SCA Annual General Meeting.
