Small farmers or acreage owners looking for a tractor with an emphasis on ease of use without compromising quality may want to peruse the Yanmar SA221.
What helps set this 21.5 horsepower sub-compact tractor apart from others in its class is the construction.
The 3-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine, 2-range hydrostatic transmission, and other drivetrain components are built in-house to ensure all components are designed to work together seamlessly.
Yanmar calls this Performance Link Technology.
This differs from some competitors who source their parts elsewhere, including some who purchase their engines from Yanmar.
The SA221’s chassis is also built with durability in mind.
Operators will find a full-frame chassis which helps reduce stress on the engine and transmission and support heavier loads.
Other manufacturers mount loaders directly to the engine block or transmission casing.
On the open operator station, users will find a foldable ROPS, side-by-side forward and reverse pedals, and a large digital display panel.
There’s also a single 4-position joystick for implement control.
And the Yanmar SA221 supports multiple implements and attachments.
When paired with the YL110 front-end loader, for example, the tractor has a lift capacity of 825 lbs (374 kg). And the 3-point hitch has a capacity of about 660 lbs (299 kg).
In addition, the B65 backhoe, which is specifically designed for the Yanmar SA221, lets operators reach a digging depth of up to 6.5 feet (1.95 metres).
The tractor can also be equipped with a mid-mount mower, a snow blade, a landscape rake, cultivator, and more.
