Small farm or acreage owners looking to maximize bale production may want to explore the TX31 mini round baler from Ibex.
This unit requires a tractor with between 18 and 45hp, like the Mahindra 1635. The TX31 plugs into any standard 3-point hitch. And all its hydraulics are self-contained to support simple operation.
Baler purchases also include a roll of twine to begin baling operations right away.
Once in the field the TX31 can show off its efficiency on properties ranging from five to 20 acres.
The mini baler can produce up to 90 bales per hour. Each bale will measure about 28 inches (71cm) long and 20 inches (50cm) in diameter.
An average bale from the TX31 weighs about 40 pounds (18kg).
But operators can adjust bale density with the baler’s rod and multi-hole adjustment system.
Moving a rod to a lower hole increases the density while placing the rod in a higher hole decreases density.
Other baler usage guidelines include:
- Crop material shouldn’t be shorter than 12 inches (30cm) or longer than 48 inches (121cm).
- Hay moisture levels shouldn’t exceed 20 per cent.
- Silage moisture levels should be between 50 and 60 per cent.
A tailgate add-on kit is also available for the TX31.
With this kit users can transform the baler into a wireless system.
The included wireless remote and transmitter support bale discharge.
Pressing the button when the bale is ready will lift the tailgate. Once the bale is discharged, press the button again to lower the tailgate and continue operation.
