Acreage owners looking for a tractor capable of performing above its weight may want to consider the Mahindra 1640.
The tractor is the largest is Mahindra’s 1600 series, boasting 38.7 HP, a 3-point hitch lift capacity of 2,646 pounds (1,200 kg), and a loader lift capacity of 1,850 pounds (839 kg).
It comes in two transmission configurations.
One is an eight-speed manual synchromesh with a shuttle shift, or a three-speed hydrostatic transmission.
The 1640 is also available in two operator options – as an open station or with a cab.small
The dual access full glass cab is only available with the hydrostatic transmission.
Inside, operators will find full climate control, pre-installed speakers for a future radio installation, a cup holder, and other comforts for those long working days.
The Mahindra 1640’s construction supports reduced downtime.
The 7.7-gallon (29-litre) tank means more work between fill ups. There’s no diesel particulate filter thanks to Mahindra’s mCRD engine. And lifting up the hood and side panels provide easy access to the battery, air filter and fuel tank.
And the 1640 comes standard with extendable flex links on the 3-point hitch.
These flex links are spring loaded and allow for up to two inches of extension.
The loader available for the cab tractor is the 1640CL.
The bucket size 64-inch (162cm) and has a maximum breakout force of 2,650 pounds (1,202 kg).
And a standard skid steer quick attach system supports simple implement switching.
Backhoe attachments are available for all 1640 models.
These range in bucket size from 12 to 16 inches, and a maximum dig depth between 80 and 95 inches.
Additionally, a 72-inch mid-mount mower is available.
